The department of Wood Science and Forest Products at Virginia Tech has announced dates for its annual Wood Week activities, including the largest University-sponsored career fair in North America for the wood and forest products sector. Wood Week 2009 will be held the week of September 14-18, 2009 on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Va. The annual Wood Week Career Fair will be held on Thursday September 17th. The event is held in the central area of the campus in a location known at the Drill Field. 27,000 students cross the Drillfield each day going to and from dormitories to classes. The career fair is held under a tent in this most visible location on the campus.
The event is promoted well in advance through direct mailings to academic departments, news release on the
department and VT websites, as well as full-page advertisements in the student newspaper leading up to the
event. Registration is required, as well as a registration fee.
