Options within the WS&FP Major

All students in our department major in Wood Science and Forest Products, which includes the choice of one of six 15-credit options. These options, comprised of selective coursework, form the basis for a career path in the forest products industry and equip the student with a specialized skills and knowledge base to be able to move into a career path quickly.

More About Our Department

The Department of Wood Science and Forest Products offers the highest caliber of hands-on experiences within a small, interactive academic environment where students obtain a personal and unique education.

Students participate in innovative new processing technologies to increase manufacturing yields while reducing the amount of wood needed for manufacturing everyday products and extending wood resources for the benefit of society.

Our faculty members have earned reputations as excellent classroom teachers, forward-looking researchers, and problem-solvers for the wood products industry.
